It promises substantial materialist reward.

As material comes before moral,

Basic pathetic survival comes before

The emotional,

The poetic.

Conscious reasoning supports the

Pathetic

The pathetic is formal existence.

Intuition and

Inner knowing

Are dismissed.

No clear indication for them.

It is convenient,

Easier,

Safer

If we consider them mythological,

Abstract.

Gaining rationalist velocity leads to

A straightforward path to

Progress,

Literal security.

It brings satisfaction that needs

Continuous readjustment.

Readjustment of material positions.

What we dismissed as mythological

Later grows into a deep necessity.

Once we have lost the natural immediacy

Of unconditional trust

We can only struggle to regain it.

We will not.

We may simulate it,

Pretend,

And believe in our own lies.

Mediocrity.

Pitiful desire for authenticity.

There is no point of regret.

Better off without it.

Since now we are forever involved

In a complicated game of

Speculations,

Artificial ambitions.

An archaic truthful beginning

Is covered with mud.

We step on it and

Smile

Like our feet are still clean.
